A Captive Thought

This dimensional work depicts a thought bursting into existence. How does an idea form, and how is the process captured or represented to others? In this work I give a visual insight into my own thinking. The use of resin is meant to further visualize the concept of an idea being encapsulated and on display. Small blooms of ink suspended in the epoxy give the impression of neurons firing, and the clustered and complex ink work throughout the piece express the intricate and unknowable nature of a thought forming. The raised resin disks contains a view full of mysterious topography giving a sense of captive energy and deceptive visual depth.
