Kiteboard Design

Repeat Pattern Design

These Kiteboard Designs evolved from some early practice in pattern design. Each illustration was hand drawn in Illustrator and the patterns are designed as seamless pattern tiles. Women are an undeserved market in many board sports - especially kite boarding. My aim was to create bright, flashy patterns that would stand out on the water and bring a more feminine aesthetic to the gear. When boards are lost in the water on a crash they are often hard to spot in the surf. The more common black/blue boards may look slick and tactical, but they ultimately aren't as practical as bright gear that's easier to recover.
